The EZ nippers have stronger neck reins than the Classic GE Nippers, are a couple of ounces heavier, and originally had a slight leverage advantage, and the jaws are slightly thicker and less apt to chip. 

To make it 'EASY' to close the handles, the bite is fractionally shallower, (the distance from rivet to blades is smaller), the neck is reinforced, and the EZ is a couple of ounces heavier than the Classic Nippers.
