The Noct lens has made its return, now faster than ever, with the Nikon NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct. This exceptional lens has been redesigned specifically for the Z-series of mirrorless cameras, leveraging the advantages of the wider Z mount. Renowned for its advanced optical design and an impressive maximum aperture of f/0.95, this lens performs exceptionally well in low-light environments and provides remarkable control over depth of field, allowing for effective subject isolation. Maintaining the manual focus design of its predecessor, this lens offers precise control, making it ideal for both photography and videography. Its optical construction features a large-diameter ground aspherical element that minimizes spherical aberrations and distortion, ensuring high sharpness and accurate image rendering. Additionally, individual elements are treated with an ARNEO coat, a Nano Crystal Coat, and a fluorine coat to significantly reduce flare and ghosting, resulting in clean and color-accurate images even in challenging lighting conditions.

In addition to its optical enhancements, the new Noct lens includes an assignable Fn button for convenient lens-based control over shooting parameters. A top-mounted lens information panel has been integrated, enabling quick verification of aperture, focus distance, and depth of field settings. Furthermore, akin to other S-series Z-mount lenses, it features a programmable control ring that allows for intuitive adjustments of either aperture or exposure compensation.

Body Design

• The selected manual focus method for this lens allows for engagement with subjects positioned as near as 1.6 feet. The focusing process is enhanced by an OLED information panel located on the top of the lens, which provides essential details such as focus distance, depth of field, and aperture settings, facilitating a swift and straightforward understanding of lens configurations and hyperfocal distances.
