The Petzl Ergonomic is an aggressive ice tool designed mainly for steep ice and dry tooling and is at home on both rock or ice.
Adaptable enough for use on less extreme terrain too, the Petzl Ergonomic is versatile and entirely modular, and can be configured for the requirements at hand. Stripped to the minimum for pure dry tooling you can get the weight down to just 550g per axe. The sharp angle of the handle is ideal for prolonged hanging and increases power when pulling and the double handle offers multiple grip modes and stable hand switching. The DRY pick optimises inverted positions due to the teeth on the top of the pick, whilst the Massolette pick weights make penetration in ice easier and facilitate slotting of the pick into cracks. Also included is the Mini Marteau hammer, to protect the head when hammering pitons or hexes into cracks.
